When I decided to not have surgery on my hemorrhoids, I was acting on my own self interest.  The idea of surgery brings up bad images in my head and risks that are not always known.  I have done a huge amount of research into the causes and cures of hemorrhoids, and I am certain that not having surgery was the correct decision.

A little background on my situation.  I am a healthy, 44 year old with no history of health problems.  I rarely go to the doctor, in fact the first time I went to the doctor in about 10 years is when I went in for my physical/check up when I turned 40.  I eat healthy, take pharmaceutical supplements, exercise regularly, and generally take very good care of myself.
